Erzsébet, The Monologue

Erzsébet is interpreted as a metaphor to what happens to women in political and powerful positions and the double standard to which they are held.


We present the story of 

Elizabeth Bathory

a 17th Century Hungarian Countess, condemned in history as the most vile and heinous murderess. 


Staring role Krishna Washburn.


Written and Directed by A. I. Merino

About the Performer

Actress & Dancer

Krishna Christine Washburn has performed with many leading dance companies including Infinity Dance Theater, Thinkdance, Heidi Latsky Dance, and LEIMAY. 


Krishna has collaborated with many independent choreographers, including Patrice Miller, Iele Paloumpis, Perel, Vangeline, Micaela Mamede, Apollonia Hoelzer and most notably with A I Merino who especially created her signature role, ERZSEBET Bathory. 


She boasts several ongoing artistic collaborations, including work with wearables artist Ntilit (Natalia Roumelioti). Krishna is the Artistic Director of The Dark Room, a multi-disciplinary project with fellow visually impaired dancer, Kayla Hamilton.
